NINA +

Nina was born and grew up in Manhattan. She studied painting at Parsons School of Design. After moving to Brazil and travelling in South America, she headed to San Francisco to live in an artist’s collective and helped run their gallery, Ancient Currents, which featured both Indigenous art and local painters and sculptors. At night, she sang in Afrobeat bands.
So many things happened after that, she can’t even tell you, but she did manage to have two amazing kids who adventured with her all over Latin America.

She settled in Sarasota, Florida where she had a bodywork practice and bought older houses and remodeled them. She has been featured in design magazines for her uniquely designed homes. At night she sang in several different languages in a Salsa/Soca and Soul band!

In 2005, Nina bought a stunning coffee farm overlooking a waterfall and the ocean in Costa Rica. After just too many cups of coffee, she is selling the property. She and her husband bought land on a river next to the highest peak in Costa Rica, Chirripo, where she designed a magical home and gardens with a bed and breakfast available for rent.

Nina is available as a buyer for clothing, jewelry, accessories and home goods and consultations for interior design and tropical landscaping. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese and does her buying mainly in Central and South America but is also ready for anywhere in the wild and crazy world!
